My Inspiration Dress
Taa- Daa!
Of course this dress would be nothing less than a designer gown by Monique L'huillier. Which translates to roughly $5,000. I was lucky enough to find it for $2,500 on a previously-owned wedding dress site. However, that was still not in my budget or moral code. I mean, if I had the dough no doubt I would spend it. However for one night? One night and never wear it again?!
But alas, this was my inspirational starting point. I have to say my dress isn't too far off! And for a fraction of the price.
The Chair and Lamp
Here was the other part of our bargain findings...
the leather chair and retro lamp.
You can't quite tell the scale in this picture, but this lamp is HUGE! On the floor it stands close to the middle of my chest. I love it! The best part, which you can't tell in the picture, the internal part of the base lights up separately!

Three cheers for bargains!

Side note, DIY dining chairs
So this is slightly off wedding topic, although not really having to do with our "nest". The soon-to-be and I were out hunting at this amazing store called Treasure Mart. It's a salvation store but only with furniture and decor. Imagine 3 stories of rummage and bargain bliss.
On the look out for dining chairs, we came across an entire set... for only $150! It's the danish style I'm in love with. It just needed a little spiffing up with upholstering the chair seats.
And VOILA!
Our new nesting grounds for meal time.
Can't wait to have a dinner party!
Before
After
Isn't that great?! Easily can seat 6-8 with the leaf out (also one extra chair now sitting in our living room). I'll have to take a picture in the daylight tomorrow of the great leather chair and retro lamp we also found.
We had a couple other great finds for the wedding. Some candle holders and an awesome serving tray.
I love a good bargain shop!

Sneak Peek at Bridesmaid Attire
Since I can't reveal all just yet, I'll give you a little sneak peek at what my maids will be wearing (minus the tights, of course. It was the only pic I could snag).
The Dress
The Dress
It's so cute. In the flesh it's a silk/ cocktail style look. I honestly want one just to have on hand for great parties. Could it get any better at $80?!
The Shoes
I was a little hesitant on these since they were picked via the web. Of course my inspiration pair was around $200 (like everything I seem to love). I was going for a very lady-like vibe that would go alongside my own shoes.
Rest assured my matron of honor got all her goods yesterday, snapped a pic and they look AMAZING together! The shoes work out perfectly and topped in only at $50.
Thank my Grandmother for the bargain shopper in me!
I can't wait to see it all come together with their accessories!

Shout Out
Before I retire for the night I do want to give a little shout out.
This one is to my Mom.
She isn't your typical "cookie cutter" Mom who drools over wedding party planning and practically snatches all jobs (and control) out of your hands. Which I'm thankful for her not being that way. She is more the Pirate Mom who captains her own ship (literally) and figures out how to man a john deer to harvest a field if need be.
Knowing her traits, I was already plenty prepared for the less than enthusiastic jump at planning decor and dresses. That's my passion (where did that come from?!). However, as of lately I actually detect a slight note of excitement in that voice of hers!
Not only excitement, she has questions! She wants to see pictures! She is already thinking about HER outfit and coordinating it with the others!
So, this one is for you, Mom...
Thanks for being you and getting down and... well... lacey with me and all the plans! You're being such a huge help with location coordinations (due to a few technical difficulties) and I love all the questions you've had lately. Even if you're faking the love of matching dresses to ties to shoes to necklaces...
I love sharing it all with you.
I love you!
Thanks Mom.

Lovely Necklace
I adore this necklace from Anthropologie. However being well over my budget at $200something, I thought it'd be a great place to start for inspiration on Bridesmaid accessories.
Isn't it lovely?
I would love to show you what I've picked for my ladies, but that will have to wait! I don't want to spoil the surprise. However I will say only one item matches, everyone has different little somethings that all go perfectly together.
And every piece is just as lovely of course <3>

How it all began
These inspiration boards were the start of it all!
The top and bottom boards are from the amazing wedding blog
Snippet and Ink
I love everything that's on there!
Welcome Nesters!
Welcome to my blog fellow nesters!
After considering how to start this I figure the best method is to start where I'm at... which will be wedding planning. Fun, no? Personally I can't get enough sappy romance filled with creative ideas. It's a vice of mine.
I hope to share loads of creative ideas on wedding planning on a budget and provide oodles of inspiration for my other passion, the creative miscellaneous.
My wedding inspiration boards soon to follow!
However I do apologize in advance for not having links to every inspiring idea I share. I've collected so much visual inspiration misc throughout the years I can't possible find or recall where everything is from.
So for the blog obsessed like myself,
Thanks for coming aboard on this journey with me!
Cheers,
Madalyn
